Your breath grows fainter as morning light stretches out across the horizon. You continue to bring materials back to the boat, piece by agonizing piece. Buddy seems blissfully ignorant of your struggles. As you’ve toiled, you have caught him more than once gingerly checking his side for the map quiver. He seems oddly possessive and secretive, even for Buddy.
