Distant Illusions IV
Buddy sticks his face out of the tent as you put the finishing touches on breakfast.
“Hoo boy, that’s a delicious smell you got there, {player}. I hope a friend could join you for breakfast?”
You nod and smile. Over breakfast, the incident from the previous evening is wiped from your minds in favor of good food and great company. Once the last bits of food disappear from your makeshift plates, Buddy leans back and exhales, satisfied, before then rummaging through his rucksack. After fishing around, he slips a rolled up map from its quiver. The edges of the parchment are frayed and covered in wrinkles and soot. After laying down a cloth over the snow, Buddy gingerly rolls out the map, careful to not damage it.
Before you sprawls T’rah in surprising detail. Though it is missing some locations, it spans the western coast of the Vast Ocean (labeled flœðr) and is speckled with islands and inlets before abruptly ending. Buddy points to the blank area. “We need to go here, on foot, as long as possible. My pir - er - exploring senses are tingling that this is where those lights originate from!”
