Summer Lessons in Science I

Vincent worked with the teachers at the school to put together a curriculum for some summer science lessons. He wanted these lessons to be fun and engaging, and to have a common theme running through all of them. Vincent decided on the humble watermelon, a most noble summer fruit as his common theme.

For the first lesson, they are going to help the kids learn about buoyancy by testing if watermelons float. The kids will also test other fruits to see which fruits float and which fruits sink in water. The teachers will then help the kids understand what makes some things float and some things sink.
