A few hours later, you return to hear echoes of a conversation further into Buddy’s cave.
“...and that wasn’t even the first time he’d gotten himself in trouble! Ragvin was a great first mate, but he ran his mouth one too many times in a Sinoan port. Had to organize a jailbreak and everything. Of course, by the time we got there, he’d already nearly won his freedom playing cards with the guards! What a friend and mate…”
“...was this the prison in Celtrica?”
“Yeah! How would you know that?”
“Well, funny story, you see, before I settled here in Redbrook, I did a shameful stint as a court wizard and jester for Jamire.”
“Wait, that was you who did the fireworks in 1342?”
“Well, I had some help…”
You step into the room and see the two smiling and conversing, before you can ask them to keep going Cecil turns to you as if he knew you were in the room.
“It’s time to start this then. Buddy quickly found that our friends are being held in a newly made jail cell just off of the Town Hall. Luckily, our friend here seems to have some experience with jailbreaks. We’ll have to be quick about it though.”
Cecil details a plan involving explosives, fireworks, and some ideas that seem very Buddy inspired.
“I have everything I need to teleport our friends to safety when the moment comes, but the setup will all be on you two. We should all rest, we begin at nightfall.”
“And it will be called, operation nightfall!” Buddy chimes in.
