New Moon I

One of the strangest lunar events that George has ever seen damaged part of his shed last night. George couldn’t sleep. So, he decided to go for a walk. While he was out walking and taking in the cool night air, the moon was waning down to its last, smallest sliver of light. In that very moment as the last minuscule drop of light was ebbing away, it suddenly broke off and hurtled right toward George. Fortunately, it went several dozen meters over his head. Unfortunately, it grazed the eaves of George’s shed and then cratered into his garden.
