Captain Thomas discovered something very strange.
One day he was digging through the sand as the sun was about to set. Right as the sun set, Captain Thomas dropped the sand that was in his hand. Instead of falling straight down, the sand remained in the air for several seconds. It was at least long enough for Captain Thomas to get down on his knees and pinch a grain of sand out of the air.
That's why Captain Thomas needed the hourglasses and the sand from the mainland. He wanted to experiment to see if it would happen again, and he wanted to see if it would happen to sand from the mainland.
The sand from the mainland behaved completely normally in all of Captain Thomas' experiments. The sand from the island behaved completely abnormally at sunset, even inside the hourglass.
Now, Captain Thomas wants to try making some glass from the island's sand. Will you help him get the resources for building and using a kiln and a bellows? He'll also need some additional materials to help him make the glass.
