Far Away XXXIV
The Voyage Log for the Captain of the Two Fishers
Day 158 of Leaf 84 of Branch 1342
Overnight update:
We left Nonir’s main port yesterday evening, after the final repairs were completed on the Balstar’s lightworks. The night crew reported that the Balstar’s lights functioned properly all through the nighttime hours, and that all was quiet.
The crew members assigned to the night shift for the new rotation seem to be doing quite well after our long break on Nonir Island. Everyone else will start their new jobs for this rotation after breakfast.
Midday update:
Lorn joined me at lunch today to express his thanks, as well as the thanks of his friends, for the turtle sightseeing tour that I and some of the crew led on the day before we left Nonir. We saw more turtles than any of my previous visits. Maybe it was somehow related to the insect migration that was also more excessive than usual. Whatever it was, the abundance of turtles was quite a treat for all of us.
{player} joined Mr. Ecsil in handling meals for this rotation. They started with a hearty meal for lunch today and set the bar quite high for this leg of the voyage. Mariya’s cooking will be dearly missed, but so far {player}’s efforts look very promising. We’re getting a bit spoiled for life after this voyage.
Evening update:
Mariya and Lorn made quite the haul today with our fishing crew. It wasn’t anywhere near the loads that George and {player} pulled in, but it was a successful day by any other measurements.
George’s training as a soldier is shining brightly in his efforts to keep the ship clean and orderly. Additionally, the crew seems to have a natural respect for George and they follow his commands as if I was standing there beside him.
Everything ran smoothly today despite the rotation of jobs. I expect to maintain this duty rotation until we reach the main island of Ginkow.
