Words of Friendship

“Where did the baby corn sleep?”

“…”

“In a corn crib! Ha!”

“I know. I know. That was a bit corny…”

“Don’t you love puns and classic jokes that play on words? I’ve always loved words and the power they possess. They can raise spirits as easily as they can destroy dreams. It’s all up to their master to decide how they will be employed.”

“I don’t know if I’ve ever told you about my aunt Lleue before, but she was a master wordsmith. She actually used to live here in Redbrook, before she passed. Throughout her life, she wrote poetry, music, and prose for all sorts of books, events, publications, and people. She was amazing. I miss her. Her wit and kindness were so refreshing.”

“After Lleue passed, a book was delivered to my house. It was written in my aunt’s hand! The book claims that there are all sorts of secrets underneath the Redbrook area. For years, I’ve searched to find some of those secrets. I found a few here and there. However, since you moved to the area, many more have been discovered, and you are often involved somehow. It’s strange. Maybe it’s a coincidence. Maybe there’s something special about you. Ha! I said maybe there’s something special about you. There’s no maybe about it. You certainly are someone special, my friend.”

“I look forward to many more of Redbrook’s secrets being revealed. Maybe you can help me sometime going through my aunt’s book of secrets.”
