Ric’s methodical pace gives you the impression that it’s an inevitability that he will find your hiding place. Looking at Buddy, he shoots you back a look of mixed concern and confidence. Suddenly, he shrugs his shoulders and whispers, “Sorry, not sorry, {player}.”
Buddy reveals a diamond the size of a small coin in his other hand and with a quick graceful gesture he throws the diamond and it strikes Ric’s torch, knocking it from his hand. Darkness envelops the area as Ric exclaims, “Hey! Who dares!?”
Buddy pulls you to your feet and gestures to you to run towards the middle of town. He straightens up and emits a booming laugh followed by a sing-song taunt. “Whoever it is, I’m not your frieeeeend!”
As you take off towards the town center, you look behind you to glimpse Buddy in full stride heading the opposite direction he pointed you in, a figure in metallic armor chasing after him.
