Strange Companions XXII
You’ve brought what Buddy requests into town. Halfway to town, Charles joins you whinnying persistently, but seems to have forgotten you don’t have the ring you normally have. You’ve no idea what he is trying to communicate with you, but it’s probably not important.
Rosalie’s home is empty when you get into town as Charles stamps impatiently behind you. There’s no note or markings outside her home, so you decide it might be best to keep searching around town.
On your way towards Beatrix’s house, you stumble across Ric Ryph, who is inspecting some of the town's defenses.
“Ah yes, good to see you!” Ric’s cheer is evident from behind his helmet, “I want to thank you for some of your donations during these trying times, and remind you that we’re all doing our part to make Redbrook safer than it has ever been, and you’re a big part of that!” He lowers his voice so only you can hear, “Just don’t get too involved in things you have no business being a part of, alright? I like you well enough but any friend of a dragon is not a friend of mine…” As Ric stands back up again, you can see his attention move towards the items you planned on giving to Rosalie, “And these items, thank you for the donation to the town, you continue to be one of my greatest supporters!”
Right before you can respond, you notice a peculiar glimmer and a shadow around the next corner and you excuse yourself quickly as Ric hands you a paper receipt.
