Strange Companions XII

Your gift baskets in hand, you head into town. As you step onto the main street, none other than Ric Ryph steps out from the nearest home, his armor gleaming in the sunlight. He sees you and gives you a strange grin before approaching you.

“Ah yes, a pleasure to see you out and about! I’ve noticed you’ve been spending a lot of time with many of the townsfolk recently. An admirable and good thing to do, why, one might even wonder if you were trying to gain public support!” He casts a significant look at your gift baskets.

“Anyways, Cecil mentioned to me that his silver flow had temporarily been interrupted and that he needed to get a few key pieces of his cashflow back and suggested you would graciously help the town out in its greatest need to defend against the loathsome dragon at his previously donated rate. If you wouldn’t mind, a double deposit, just to keep the town running smoothly and the guard paid, would be ever so appreciated.”
