Strange Companions VIII
As a group, it is decided that you and Rosalie are best suited to see Cecil, so you head off to town with your goods, and make your way through town. Cecil’s house is an oddity, older than many other homes in the town, but it has always seemed to come through tragedy untouched and looking quite pristine.
Rosalie knocks on Cecil’s door and at first, there is no answer. A few moments later, the large front door opens slowly, and Cecil appears with an annoyed look on his face. His eyes quickly flit to Rosalie and before she says anything, he looks to you and says quietly, “You may enter. The mage’s pupil is not allowed in under any circumstance. These are my terms.” His eyes look like they will brook no argument and Rosalie gives you a quizzical look before stepping away from the door.
Cecil opens the door wider and allows you inside. The majesty and size of his home is not lost on you in that moment, as the door opens to a great hallway full of trinkets and baubles that distract the eye and glitter in unique and fascinating ways. Cecil walks you to a room you’ve never been in before and your eyes are drawn to even more trinkets and the energy core you brought back from Romuska, placed on a mantle in a base overseeing the room. You notice a kind of black cord coming down the side of the mantle but before you can figure out where it goes, Cecil interrupts your reverie by coughing gently.
“I know why you’re here, and I need your help. You see, Ric has been asking me for more and more money lately to fund his operation. Obviously, money is easy to come by, but I need to replenish my collection of items I sell to various vendors. In return, I will tell you what I know.”
You see no other avenue forward, and Cecil hands you a list of items he wants you to acquire. It’s strangely similar to items Rosalie and Star have asked you for in the past.
