Under the cover of darkness, the four of you trek back to your farmhouse, Rosalie’s face scrunched in concentration, muttering something incomprehensible under her breath, while you and Lorn attempt to talk casually while keeping lookout.
After arriving at the farmhouse, you still can’t shake the feeling that you’re being watched, but you have no proof to bring to the group.
The next morning, Beatrix seems to have recovered from collapsing, she thanks you all for your care and assures you that she is fine. After a moment, a tear streaks down her face, “It feels so good to be among people that care, and to not be an outcast. If you’d allow me this morning to recover, I will tell you a story.”
Lorn pulls you aside and suggests you all spend your morning going about your normal tasks and you can reconvene at lunch. As it happens, he was hoping you could pick up some items for him and a friend while you’re in town. It’s a rather odd list.
