Sound Unstable I
“Are you listening? You have that far off look in your eyes again.”
After forcing yourself to focus, you remember that Lorn was in the middle of telling you about some strange noises he heard on his weekly trek to the coast.
“I was walking down to the beach when I heard the strange sound behind me. It sounded like the trampling of leaves as you walk over them in the late fall, but that crunching sound was followed by a squelch, like a boot stepping through mud. When I stopped to listen, really listen, the sound vanished.”
After pausing for a few moments, Lorn alters his course.
“I know what we need to do. Experimentation has always helped me understand. Will you help me gather a few things to see if we can recreate the noise I heard?”
