Smells, Spells, & Cicada Shells

You're drenched in sweat by the time you reach the Misty Forest. The sound of the cicadas is deafening and the ground is littered with their shells along the base of every tree.

frank is already waiting on you. He's leaning against a tree with... is that another pile of carrot stems? How long has he been waiting on you? And where is he putting all of those carrots!?

"great! you're finally here. i was almost out of carrots and was tempted to try corn for the first time..." frank visibly shudders as he speaks. "you... did bring more, right?"

You hand frank another bag of carrots and he begins walking into the forest. You follow.

"so, most people think cicadas are just noisy insects, but that's only because most people can't hear the other sound. the buzzing you hear is just the physical part. beneath that is a second resonance. star has been hoping to discover how to tap into it."

frank stops and scrunches his nose.

"smell that? sea salt... i know where he went next! to the emerald beach!"

More blue feathers erupt from nowhere as frank once again vanishes into thin air.
