As you hand over your hard earned money, the robot begins to shut down.

A familiar voice emits from the cloud of feathers that have suddenly enveloped the area.
“…knocked the calibrator off by 0.0004 seconds for detecting aetherial fluctuations south of Whispering Creek. All because something finally drove this robot to despair, then sentience, and then extinguished its life so quickly that it nearly spun out a new multiverse. What have you done this time Vincent?!”’
Star gives Vincent a withering gaze that you swear could burn a hole right through him. Vincent, to his credit, seems very unalarmed with his response to Star.
“Ah yes, I was told you might try to interfere. The...automaton wanted money in exchange for this ‘energy core’, which we gladly provided. An exchange of services has been rendered and I got what I came for. What law have we broken?”
Star glares for another moment before conceding, “Well, no law has been broken, but EVERYTHING is the issue! That sphere was all that was keeping that poor insane robot going! You’ve basically ended this robots's life for your selfish needs! And on a Tuesday!”
Star pauses for a moment, gathering his thoughts.
“That’s okay, I happen to know these little guys run better on ethanol anyways. If you bring me some corn and runes, we can have him better than new, and no longer tethered to this desk!”
