Islands Are Hard To Catch VII

Thomas accidentally lost the gravitational array. He paddled out to the site of the hidden island and tried to use it with the mask. The gravitational array started glowing when Thomas got close to the island. So, he held it out to make contact with the shore. At that same moment, a fish jumped out of the water right near his face. In surprise, Thomas dropped the array. It sank very quickly. Worst of all, the island was not fazed by the sinking gravitational array.
Thomas wants you to come up with an idea to try. He's open to almost anything at this point.
