Howling At The Mine I

Of all the mines, Cid likes Fenrir’s Den the least. There’s just something about the place that makes him uneasy. The giant wolf’s head formation is unsettling on its own, but there’s something else about the place when you’re deep down in the guts of the mine.

Maybe it’s simply from when Cid was growing up and his mother told him never to enter the wolf’s maw.

One day, years after Cid’s mother passed, he got the courage up to enter Fenrir’s Den, just to see what his ma was worried about. He found nothing that day. Then, he came back a few days later and dug a little. Still, he saw nothing to be wary of. He kept coming back for years and digging deeper and deeper. The deeper he dug though, the more he felt uneasy. Now, the place just radiates unease for Cid. It’s like the digging removed protective layers of stone, freeing something.

Cid’s not trying to scare you away from the place, but he doesn’t come here very often anymore. And if you start feeling any disquiet about the place, Cid may stop mining here altogether.

Nevertheless, Cid still wants you to have the opportunity to try Fenrir’s Den. If you’ll bring Cid your pickaxes, he’ll upgrade them for the cold hard stone of Fenrir’s Den.
