Fun Underground Now I

A rumble like thunder shivers the ground around you as you’re weeding a patch of carrots. You look to the sky, but only find one small scrappy cloud thinly stretched across the bright blue. There isn’t another cloud in sight.

Bringing your attention back to the ground, you hear the grind of soil rolling upon itself and roots being broken. As you look around to find the source, a small circle of ground begins rising upward. Suddenly, the circle of ground falls away leaving a dark hole a little bigger than a human head. A little smoke gently floats out of the hole.

“Blast it all!” A rough voice grumbles from under your feet.

“Well, git a ladder! We need ta talk.”
