Fire in the Field

A loud boom shook Jill’s windows and woke her up just after midnight. She ran to her bedroom window to see what happened and discovered a fire in her wheat field. It only lasted about half an hour, but it burned the entire field of wheat right down to the dirt. Jill tried to put out the fire, but nothing could extinguish it.
After the field cooled down, she discovered an enormous crater, but there were no remnants of whatever fell there.
