Emerald Walks Everyday I

Baba likes to take a jaunty stroll through his cabbage fields everyday. He does it first thing in the morning as the sun is rising on his leafy emeralds. As he walks through the field, the air fills with cabbagey goodness and Baba finds himself at peace with the world and refreshed for the new day.

The only thing that could make these walks better is a nice walking stick of some sort. Baba needs something that fits perfectly in the hand, that can be used to examine cabbages as he walks, and that can frighten off cabbage munching drorels when necessary. Would you mind helping Baba to find the perfect walking stick?
