A Pearl Jam I
When Holger was very young, his grandmother would pay Holger and Borgen a fat pouch of ancient coins each to go and explore all around the area in search of pearl berries. Holger and Borgen usually only filled a single basket after several long days of exploring. These extremely rare berries were very difficult to find, but, according to Holger, the taste was not to be found anywhere else.
Holger also told Rosalie about some of the recipes that his grandmother created with the pearl berries. They were all delicious, but Holger’s absolute favorite was the pearl berry jam.
All of these stories from Holger made Rosalie excited to taste the pearl berries and to try them in her cooking. Unfortunately, she can’t find a single berry.
